Clarence Nelson jr

Clarence Nelson Jr.

April 12, 1938 - August 6, 2025

Clarence Nelson Jr. passed away into eternal life on August 6th, 2025 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sally of sixty years and their daughter Debra (Debbie) (Joe) Haskins. He is survived by his son James (late Carol Ann) and grandson Timothy (Tim) Haskins. Along with countless nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Logan County, West Virginia, he served in the U.S. Army (1958-1961) and was stationed overseas in Germany. After leaving the military he moved to Chicago and worked in the Tool and Die industry for nearly 40 years with a 7-year period as owner/operator of a tavern in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood in the 1980s.

An avid sports fan which included the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns, he was known on occasions to "kidnap" his son Jim to the local racetracks in the area to watch a horse race or two.

A gentle man with a kind soul he will be sorely missed, may you shine in the Glory of the Lord.
