Judy Lynnette Conn Folkers, at the age of 51, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of September 22, 2026. She was born November 6, 1974, to Burton and Karen Conn in New Hampton, Iowa.

Judy grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1993. She attended Central Christian College of the Bible later that year, ending her education to take care of her father in 1995. She met her husband Brian at work and they married in 2001. They honeymooned in the Florida Keys and in the next few years were blessed with three wonderful children. She was a hardworking businesswoman who managed many retail stores, and during her free time was an avid crafter. She loved making clothes and blankets for people in the hospital. After the loss of her beloved husband in March 2025 to colon cancer, she worked as a caretaker for the sick, often spending nights talking and listening to the elderly. 

Her favorite hobbies included crafting, watching movies, and baking. She could quote every line from the movies in The Fast and Furious franchise. Judy will be remembered for her loud and frequent laugh, her sarcastic wit, hosting lively holiday parties, being a ferocious adversary during game night, and being the best wife, mother, and friend one could ever hope to have.

She is survived by her three children, Haylee (24), Jackson (22), and Jonathan (16), who describe her as their staunchest advocate and their rock. They love and miss her terribly. Judy is also survived by her mother Karen Conn, her sisters Joani and Barb, her in-laws Barbara and Dennis Folkers, her sister-in-laws Kelli, Tracy and Toni, and her brother-in-law Michael, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceasing her were her husband Brian Folkers, and her father Burton Conn.

For Judy, family did not mean just who you were born into. If you knew Judy, she loved you, and you were family. Every single day, without fail, she would tell her family: “Good morning, have a great day. I love you. Make good choices.”

Visitation service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 1022 S Washington Street Lockport, IL 60441, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 30th at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, 2003 Hassert Blvd, Naperville, IL 60564 at 11:30am.
