Frank Adam Formas passed away at his home in Country Club Hills, Illinois on December 16, 2021. Frank was born in Kety, Poland to Frank August Formas and Mary (Dusik) Formas on November 8, 1926. After immigrating to the United States at age two, he later was drafted into the U. S. Navy during World War II in 1945 and was issued an Honorable Discharge as Seaman Second Class. Frank was offered contracts by several Major League Baseball teams and signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers and played in the Florida League. Frank’s baseball career was short-lived because of a previous leg injury from playing industrial league baseball. Frank was hired by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Chicago Lawn, the position from which he retired. Besides working as a Postal Carrier, he also worked as a bartender at many businesses. Frank enjoyed spending his free time playing backyard baseball with his children and every neighborhood kid. He loved spending his summers at his Wisconsin cottage. When his many grandchildren arrived, he attended as many of their activities as possible. Frank loved to sit and play the slot machines. Frank was preceded in death by the love of his life, Annie (Rampsch) Formas; his son, Steven Formas; grandson David Dolitsky; his parents, sisters Ann, Adeline, and Marian and brother Edwin. He is survived by his children Frank (Nancy) Formas, John (Barbara) Formas, Jimmy (Melissa) Formas, David (Sandra Chia) Formas, Kenneth (Frances) Formas, Michael (Barbara) Formas, Andrew (Sally) Formas, Lisa (Phillip) Prieto, and Laura (Bruce) Dolitsky. Frank was also survived by grandchildren Frank Formas, Timothy Formas, Katie Sands, Michael Formas, Justin Formas, Maris Hauck, Catherine Martin, Christopher Formas, Rebecca Smith, Chrissa Flaks, Tiffany Sigerich, Rachael Greenlees, Cassandra Wurm, Michaela Formas Espadas, Shannon Formas, Abigail Formas, Stephanie Formas, Jenna Potokar, Jake Prieto, Josh Dolitsky, Chad Prieto, Olivia Prieto, Jack Prieto, Sarah Dolitsky and Danny Dolitsky. Frank is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren. He is survived by brothers, Carl and Fred. Loving care was given to Frank by his caretakers, Liza and Luis Mendoza. Baron's Burials Funeral Services are handling arrangements. A funeral mass will be held at St. George Catholic Church, Tinley Park, Illinois at 10:00 am on December 22, 2021. Internment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

John Formas “Johnny Versace” of South Holland, IL passed away suddenly on December 29, 2021 at the age of 70. He was a member of The Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local Union 130 UA and worked for over 52 years as a licensed journeymen plumber. He was a parishioner of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Harvey, IL.
John was always willing to help others and had a natural knack for being a comedian with no boundaries. He always tried to make people laugh and had the gift of witticism like no other. John was passionate about his son, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews sporting events.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee Gallagher) Formas; his son Michael John (Elizabeth Cartier) Formas, grandchildren Molly Jane Formas and Connor John Formas; his brothers Frank (Nancy), Jimmy (Melissa), David (Sandra), Ken/Cootie (Fran), Michael (Barbara), Andrew (Sally), his sisters Lisa (Phil), Laura (Bruce); his brothers-in-law Ken (Arlene), Pat (the late Linda), Ed, Jim (Kelly); his sister-in-law Brenda (Bill); his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mom Anne (nee Rampsch) Formas, his dad Frank Formas, his brother Steven Formas, nephew David Dolitsky, father-in-law Leo and mother-in-law Delores Gallagher, brother-in-law Don Gallagher, nephew Matthew Gallagher, and niece Lynn Doll.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St George Catholic Church, 6707 W 175th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60447 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 19500 S Cottage Grove Avenue, Glenwood, IL 60425.
